Well, maybe it’s not so funny that I am talking about age in my blog. I am celebrating my birthday today.
You have to indulge me a little. Alright, you don’t have to indulge me, you can simply stop reading this blog and I will never know. For those of you that are sticking around I want to share an adventure I went on yesterday with the Butcher. If you don’t ever want to grow up, it’s good to be married to someone with the same mentality. Yesterday we went to the Columbus zoo. We had a wonderful time. We rode the carousel–2 times, but who is counting? I fed a giraffe and we saw Flamingos in all of their splendor.
I am really getting sentimental the older I get. I am learning to enjoy the simple things in life and to live in the moment. “You never know when you may pass this way again”, takes on a new meaning.
I am sharing some of the pictures of our adventure yesterday and encouraging you to make memories with your mate, your family, your friends.
The flamingos were amazing. The colors were beautiful. I have never seen them in the wild. Another visitor told me they often visit the zoo in the winter months and the Flamingos are still outside. That amazed me because their natural habitat is tropical. I guess you can get used to these cold winters. It’s a choice we make.
I thoroughly enjoyed feeding the giraffe. They are so big, yet quiet and gentle. What a contrast to some of the other animals we saw yesterday.
Well, this is a beautiful day and I have a birthday to celebrate.
Until next time…From our Butcher Block to your Table.
